About

A small, free library of Minecraft capes, plus a browser-based editor for making your own.

What is here

1654 capes in four groups: solid colours taken from the game's own dye palette, two-tone gradients, repeating geometric patterns, and simple flags redrawn to fit the 10×16 cape area. Each one comes as a standard 64×32 PNG and an HD version.

Where the designs come from

All of them are generated from scratch by our own code — plain geometry and colour, nothing traced or copied from anywhere else. That is deliberate: it keeps the whole library free to download and use without anyone having to wonder who owns what.

Using a cape in game

Minecraft itself does not let you upload a cape — the official ones are tied to your account. These files are for the cape mods that do allow it. Download the PNG and point the mod at it.

The texture layout

A cape texture is 64×32 pixels, and the cape itself is a 10×16×1 box inside it. The outside face sits at (1,1), the inside at (12,1), the two edges at (0,1) and (11,1), and the top and bottom strips along the first row. Everything else in the image is left transparent.
